Healing from past trauma is necessary to gain clarity and avoid choosing the wrong partners.

“I'm a huge believer that if you haven't healed, you are 90% likely to choose the wrong person. Yeah. It's just too difficult to pick that person that you truly love and can truly love you and accept that level of vulnerability when you have still not resolved your past traumas”

A person should not keep their own healing process hostage while waiting for those who caused their trauma to acknowledge or apologize for their actions.

“I don't want to keep my healing hostage waiting for the healing of those who harmed me”

Healing collective trauma requires consciously facing past violations, taking responsibility for personal patterns, and using ritual to reintegrate repressed parts of the self.

“We've both had different types of violations and sometimes you haven't been able to stand up for yourself in those spaces. And so we've done medicine ceremonies and gone really deep and played out some of the situations where there's been violation and and letting one or the other say what they need”

Healing collective trauma like sexual violence requires addressing and healing those consciousnesses within ourselves to prevent them from permeating the collective.

“And when we actually are able to quite literally [ __ ] them open through conversation, through our own intimacy and through eventually with another, that is how we actually like huge things like sexual traumas, pedophilia, sexual trafficking on this planet. It's all actually interconnected”
