Destiny Bonnell asserts that the Trump administration violated the First Amendment by attempting to penalize students and faculty for protesting.

“Wokeism hasn't uh ripped up institutions or attempted even to destroy free speech even by your standards because uh Ronald Reagan appointed judge uh ruled that the Trump administration was violating the first amendment by attempting to uh deport, arrest and detain students and faculty members”

Legal permanent residents are protected by the First Amendment and cannot be deported simply for their political speech.

“Green card holders are one step removed from the naturalization process full-blown naturalization implies that you can vote that's like the major distinction as a green card holder you can't vote but and and also you I think have to tell the government if you're like out of the country for extended ”

He asserts that it is fundamentally wrong for the government to be involved in silencing citizens.

“for the government to be in the business of silencing citizens it's wrong”

Protesting inside a church violates the First Amendment rights of the parishioners present.

“Well, not only that, just storming in and interrupting that violates the first amendment rights of all the people that are in the church.”

The First Amendment is being bastardized by individuals who use it to justify storming and disrupting religious services.

“But I think it's such a bastardization of the First Amendment. I think if the founders saw that the First Amendment was being used to justify a bunch of ICE protesters storming into a church and disrupting a church service, I think they'd be very, very disappointed.”

Free speech protections, including those in the First Amendment, do not provide immunity for committing crimes, and claiming journalism as a defense does not excuse illegal activity.

“you cannot use free speech as a justification to commit additional crimes. you you cannot uh claim that your status as a journalist, whatever that means in the era of the citizen journalist and of the new media, uh gives you some kind of blanket immunity to break the law.”

Journalists do not have a First Amendment right to violate federal law, such as the Face Act or Klan Act, while acting under the guise of journalism.
