The death of Alexei Navalny in prison is an awful event, but the circumstances of his death are not fully understood despite the claims made by Western politicians.

“I think, I don't think you should put opposition figures in prison. I really don't. I don't, period. It happens a lot around the world. Happens in this country as you know, and I'm against all of it. But do we know how we died? The short answer, no, we don't.”

Alexei Navalny showed immense bravery as an opposition leader, and his death is a tragedy for the Russian opposition movement.

“and today he's in prison well of course that's now outdated today he's dead”

Alexei Navalny demonstrated extraordinary courage by returning to Russia despite the near-certainty of imprisonment and death.

“and here we have an example of somebody who yeah went knowing there was a very very good chance that he would be killed”

She maintains that Alexei Navalny was murdered by Vladimir Putin.
