He supports the National Fish Habitat Partnership due to their work restoring fish habitats nationwide.

“Uh they just do a lot of habitat work all across the country. Um it's it's like an umbrella organization that that fosters partnerships for improving and restoring fish habitat.”

Management for ring-necked pheasants provides environmental benefits such as improved habitat for pollinators, cleaner water, and cleaner air.

“I think the pheasant and plenty of other species out there, but the pheasant is one of them that basically has helped with putting sort of that wildlife distinction into the farm bill as far as grass. It's like this strategic grassland reserve. So, they're a non-native species. They're not invasive ”

He believes the most effective way to maintain game bird populations is to focus on creating and maintaining appropriate habitat.

“you just can't simply overpop populate something and hope that it takes a foothold if the habitat recipe isn't there. It's it was a completely different era and thankfully by and large we're letting science dictate what we're doing nowadays.”

The effort to establish a corridor for jaguars spanning 5,000 miles is a revolutionary and worthwhile goal for preserving the species.

“mostly I focus, you know, on the jaguar just because it was so kind of, you know, revolutionary. The notion of the jaguar corridor, you know, that swath of land, you know, five 5,000 5,000 miles just hadn't been attempted before for one species.”

“I'm trying millions of dollars in the wildlife conservation projects around the world I have my own place in Sumatra that we built it is filled with our Rangers watching tens of thousands of acres in the most pristine place left on earth”

“the reality of it is you need it you need animals in captivity to help spread awareness really you know do research on endangered species”

Humans should build proper perimeters and enclosures to prevent wildlife from accessing their property rather than simply shooting animals.

“well that's because it's going on there's america yeah and we were founded on you if you're shooting it can solve the problem you do that first exactly these animals are varmints well you don't you don't box them in you don't put a perimeter you know just shoot it”

Participating in the state's hunting license and tag system is an appropriate way for shed hunters to contribute financially to the conservation of the resource they are utilizing.

“I'm buying hunting licenses in pretty much all the western states that I shed hunt. I'm applying for tags there. So, I feel like if I'm participating in the big picture of conservation, then I don't feel like taking a few hundred worth of antler out of the resource changes anything.”
