Atlanta offers Black people a unique sense of freedom and community that allows them to pursue their individual identities without the constraints found elsewhere.

“It just gives you this other layer of Freedom so you can explore your personal idea the gay clubs are black you know what I'm saying like so that makes sense like yeah that makes sense in a place where you can explore your personal identity if your personal identity is a different sexuality”

Chico Bean asserts that real Atlanta culture is defined by having experienced specific local institutions like Freaknik and iconic night clubs during the 1990s.

“What I meant to say is you went to Freaknik, you ain't go to 559, 112, Visions, goddamn Compound, that's not real Atlanta.”
