The deployment of thousands of National Guard troops to serve as quick reaction forces for riot control is concerning because there are no clear major issues that local law enforcement cannot manage.

“Well, now they're talking about uh reactionary forces to ensure law and order against rioting of 23,500 people. And that sort of begs the question, why do we need that when we again don't seem to have any major issues that regular law enforcement hasn't been able to handle? And that is I think deepl”

Trump's decision to deploy the National Guard without the state governor's consent is an illegal and authoritarian act.

“there is not going to be a Mark Esper in place now to say hey we shouldn't you can't federalize the national guard over the objections of the governor of California that's not something that is legal or permissible and you to turn troops on American citizens. Like that is an extraordinary thing.”

The utilization of the US military against domestic protesters and the branding of American citizens as internal enemies constitutes a dangerous threat to democracy.

“What is scary about this speech is he's not just kind of performing fascism like he's telling them, you know, enemy within. There's an invasion within like quick reaction force to use against Americans. Spit the hit. These are deeply fascistic ideas, you know, and they're not new ideas.”

The speaker is skeptical of a sustained military presence in American cities, fearing it establishes a precedent that could be weaponized by future administrations.

“I am uneasy cheering on military presence in in these cities if it's a sustained presence. Uh and because I'm not confident that the right's going to hold power after Trump.”

He believes the National Guard should not be deployed for domestic policing in cities like Los Angeles or Baltimore.

“I don't think I never thought that the National Guard should be in LA. I don't think the National Guard should be in Baltimore.”

Young men are motivated to join the military when it is presented as a serious fighting force rather than a diverse workplace.

“if what they actually wish to do is join a fighting machine which is what the American war machine is supposed to be then they're going to want to go into Donald Trump's military”

The current US military leadership is bloated, promotes bureaucracy over lethality, and lacks the necessary focus on merit.

“they're massively behind the um criticism that Trump had in the first administration of only five of the 28 NATO countries actually spending 2% of their GDP on defense is even more Stark now even though that number I think is 11 or 12 over the 28 are spending 2%”

The military should prioritize combat effectiveness and the ability to win wars over social engineering.

“it's not about how silly it is because of the gender bender and lgbtq AIP that none of it has anything to do with fighting effectively and breaking things and Defending Your Country and being capable of going to war”

The military is suffering from a lack of recruits in part because of mandatory vaccinations and the perception that the military is now focused on being woke.

“I I don't know too many guys still in, to be honest with you. Really? Yeah, cuz they've all they've all left within the last I mean, probably before 20 2021, I guess, cuz the the shot thing was a big thing. The vaccination thing was a big thing with a lot of my friends.”

The military is being led by people who encourage reckless behavior, undermining discipline and posing risks to the public.

“And now what we're seeing is the military being encouraged basically to just be kind of like unhinged frat boys. And instead of getting reprimanded and instead of getting the discipline that the military is supposed to instill in our soldiers”

The Army's decision-making model in the Pentagon has been corrupted and requires a complete overhaul.

“I think um once you realized how decayed and how um calcified and what I would say is lowercase C, how corrupted the decision-making model in the Pentagon has been for decades. I basically started telling people a ton of the senators and congressmen I would meet with when they would ask for an updat”

The leadership of the current Department of Defense is incompetent and driven by a personal agenda rather than professional military standards.

“And his um just ineptitude, his just like religious or not, his general ineptitude is on display here.”

The modern military suffers from a top-heavy bureaucracy and a lack of accountability for performance at the flag officer level.

“there's a complete lack of accountability without reinstituting accountability we're going to stay on the same track that we're on now”

He commends the secrecy and unity displayed by the Trump administration in carrying out the operation.

“They stayed united and then they shocked the world, they shocked Iran, they shocked everybody. Nobody knew except for the people that were involved. That part you got to give credit to them.”

He supports the airstrikes and believes Trump is doing the world's necessary work to neutralize Iran.

“Trump and the IDF are doing the world's dirty work.”

He approves of the speed, precision, and secrecy with which Trump executed the military operation.

“So, that's one thing that I do like about Trump when he does warfare. He like his plans are smooth and fast and you don't see them coming.”
