Five months before Ashley Flynn was shot in her sleep, her husband told his mistress what he was going to do the next time Ashley fell asleep, and Alleigha Botner told him to be careful. Then she said "Perfect." That exchange, read into evidence at the Caleb Flynn trial, is the center of this full three-part panel. Robin Dreeke, former head of the FBI's Counterintelligence Behavioral Analysis Program, and Jennifer Coffindaffer, retired FBI special agent, work through nine clips from Botner's testimony with me. Part one is Caleb's messages: June 12, 2025, when he asked her to "hire someone" and wrote "I've never joked about it"; July 4, "please take her out" and "not even for a second" about Ashley's parents; August 22, up until 4 a.m. "thinking of ways to kill her and not go to jail," then sitting across from her work in his truck. Part two is hers: the July 10 message she says she didn't mean and had to claim on the stand; the September 2 plan for Ashley's phone; and "I'm not asking that you take her life, obviously," followed by "time is ticking." Part three is the cross: her Google searches in the days after the murder ("wife being murdered and no suspect found"), her "I don't think he could ever be capable," and the close, where she confirms police never searched her apartment or car, never took her DNA or prints, never charged her, and never offered her a deal. Caleb Flynn is charged with aggravated murder; prosecutors say he shot Ashley twice on February 16, 2026 and staged a break-in. His defense says an intruder did it.
