The police were negligent in their handling of the De La Roche case by rushing to close it without properly verifying evidence.

“In the end, I think um listen, if the police hadn't rushed to close the case after Harry's confession, like if they would have checked everybody for gunshot residue, like see if anyone had it on their hands. If the police went out to the bar that Harry said he was at that night and verify was he the”

Josh argues that the police conducted an incompetent investigation that failed to follow basic leads.

“This case is a mess right can we agree on that and it only gets worse it's out of control really uh they missed some serious critical evidence and they did not follow through”

The police chief failed to properly investigate the scene after finding blood, showing potential incompetence or negligence.

“At minimum, he's an idiot. Worst-case scenario, he did see the blood, knew exactly what it represented, and decided to turn a blind eye.”

The host criticizes the initial investigation for suffering from tunnel vision and prematurely focusing on the wrong suspect.

“And of course, when Katie was arrested for it, the police, they were they were pretty incredible because they really tried to help him out uh by blaming Katie and they were like, "You know what? Katie did do it. They totally tunnel visions on her."”

The police failed in their duty by refusing to believe a dying teenager and instead siding with his murderer based on a false claim of a racist attack.

“In this case here, you have uh this poor guy Henry Novak who is bleeding to death on the ground. And the police actually are showing you a two-tiered system of justice that actually is racially discriminatory.”

The host concludes that the defendant is guilty based on the circumstantial evidence and the lack of a credible alternative.

“In order to believe he's innocent, you would have to believe that Jim McIntyre is a real person. And I don't think the defense proved that.”

John Matthias believes the evidence in the James Craig trial indicates a meticulously planned murder by the defendant.

“What started as a suspicious illness is now revealing itself to be a carefully planned murder executed by someone Angela loved and trusted.”

The host presents the conclusion that the investigation determined Tracy RoR orchestrated the murder of Dustin Wehde for custody advantage.

“The investigators agreed that Tracy had orchestrated the entire attack in the hopes of implicating John Pitman thus giving her an advantage in their upcoming custody proceedings”

The state should pursue criminal charges against Wendy Adelson because she was complicit in the crime.

“Because I think she was complicit and complicit in a criminally responsible way and because I think that being the case that uh given that the gravity of the crime and some of the really truly terrible things she did that I think the state should give it a shot.”

The host concludes that Erin Patterson undoubtedly committed murder to resolve her familial disputes.

“In November of 2023, and after multiple months of investigations, Victoria Police officially arrested Aaron Patterson and charged her with three counts of murder relating to the deaths of Don and Gail Patterson and Heather Wilkinson. And on top of that, they added one count of attempted murder.”

The host claims that polygraph tests are unreliable and inherently flawed because they fail to distinguish between lying and general nervousness.

“If you're nervous and you sweat under pressure or your heart rate elevates when you're asked a particularly pointed question, you're deemed a liar. And in cases like this, you're deemed a murderer as well.”

“I thought the prosecution's opening statement was really powerful. the defense has a tough road ahead of them after that opening statement in my opinion. But I will say unlike other people, I believe I do think the defense does have a case, an argument.”

She believes it is possible for the defense to win on appeal regarding the inclusion of financial crimes in the murder trial.

“All the financial crimes were tried at the same time and that was one of his claims on appeal and I think he might actually win on that.”

Ms. Little expresses skepticism regarding the prosecution's narrative and the reliability of the evidence presented against the defendant.

“I still want to know how you can take an oral swab from Tara Baker's mouth and have none of her DNA on that swab, only Edric Fost DNA. Explain that to me.”

Gavin Fish believes the defense and prosecution are likely both confident that the 11-1 jury deadlock favors the defense's position.

“That tells me that the defense is confident that 11 jurors are um are on their side and that the prosecution is confident that 11 jurors are against them.”
